Dear Kerry,

I send warmest greetings for a wonderful celebration breakfast on IWD; a day for us to join in solidarity and sisterhood to honour the achievements of women, those on whose fine and feisty shoulders we stand; those who have led our women's movement on our long road to equality, who have inspired and encouraged generation after generation of true followers.

We take pride in what we have done, what women have done, the support of men who have believed in equality of opportunity. The things we are doing today that we'd never have dreamt of; our firsts, our leaders, our milestones, our legal and social reforms, our inclusiveness; in equality, development and peace, in every endeavour, health, education, employment, science, arts - recognising that women's rights are human rights.

I congratulate you and your colleagues in Women in Rotary on the contribution you make, on the work you do to enhance opportunities for women in your great international organisation that signifies proud traditions of community service. I wish you a wonderful IWD.
